Strap Shoes
A strap can completely change the character of a shoe. Its width, position and proportion affect not only the way the shoe sits on the foot, but the balance of the whole design. Whether delicate and barely there or more architectural in form, the strap becomes an important part of the silhouette.
I often use strap shoes as an opportunity to introduce subtle detail through material, colour, fastening or handwork.
The result can be restrained or highly decorative, but always considered as a whole. As with every bespoke commission, the design begins with the woman who will wear it and develops from there.
